It seemed fitting to make a post on how to deep fry a turkey safely. I have been getting hungry for turkey, so why wait for Thanksgiving? I can fire up the fryer and turn out a succulent, moist deep-fried turkey just because. However, we’ve all seen news stories on disasters that occur when turkey fryers go wrong. Burnt hair. Burnt cars, Burnt houses. You get the idea.
I absolutely love both guacamole and hummus. I crave them but sometimes can’t decide which one to make. I call this dish God Bless Texas Hummus. We all like to have a cohesive decorative scheme in our home, but when we don’t the reason why this is the case is sometimes down to a lack of money.

Halloween as kids is all fun and games. You dress up, you get free candy. The night ends with you on a sugar high riding into the sunset. But what do you do when the neighbor kicks you off her doorstep shouting, “You’ve got to stop! I’m not giving you free candy! You’re 38!”
That means it’s time to get a different excuse to eat too many sweets: a party.
The season is changing, and I couldn’t be happier. Fall or Autumn (whichever you prefer) is my favorite time of the year. I love celebrating Halloween and Thanksgiving, and there are pumpkins and leaves everywhere! And let’s not forget about Pumpkin Spice drinks. In honor of the season, I have compiled a list of my […] […]
I recently had an idea on how to fill an empty corner of my office without spending a dime. This involved an empty wood spool upcycled into a seasonally decorated side table. The spool I had in mind was a smaller spool, and it was just sitting in a warehouse waiting to be hauled to the dumpster. Of course, my upcycling senses kicked in! A friend or a relative calls to inform you they are in the area and would love to drop by, presumably to check on you, ask about your welfare, or just engage in a simple chat.
